JMU Access Partnership

A wheelchair turning circle: giving people the freedom to move, by giving them the space they needAs one of the UK's leading access consultancies, part of the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), our aim is to help disabled people lead full and independent lives by improving the everyday environments which they use.

We undertake this through access consultancy, training and research activities in our main fields of specialism: buildings, transport, street environments, products and service provision. Please use the links on the left to find out more about the services offered by our consultants.

New disability equality duty workshop

JMU have launched a new in-house course for public bodes that have completed a Disability Equality Scheme but are looking for further information and advice in relation to its implementation.

'Disability Equality Duty: The Way Forward' will be a one-day course, run in-house for individual public bodies. Please see our training pages for further information.

More training courses

Details of upcoming open courses are now shown in the training section. Join us in September for a two-day course on an introduction to access consultancy. We are also running a new half-day workshop on Tactile Images and Maps.

‘The creation of accessible images is more complex than simply creating a tactile or large print copy of the original’. (RNIB See It Right Guidelines)

This half day workshop is being run from the RNIB Peterborough offices on the 29th September 2008. Reserve your space now! Please see our training pages for further details on course content and prices for this open course. Alternatively you can also book an in-house course for your organisation.
