What's new?Tactile Graphics 2008Tactile Graphics 2008 is the fourth international conference and exhibition on diagrams, maps and pictures for blind and partially sighted children and adults in education, work and daily life. With a day of pre-conference workshops and two full days of conference presentations, the event is essential for anyone interested in making graphical material accessible, and runs from 3-5 December 2008 at Jurys Inn, Birmingham, UK. For further details please visit the conference website: www.nctd.org.uk/Conference/Conf2008/New disability equality duty workshopJMU have launched a new in-house course for public bodes that have completed a Disability Equality Scheme but are looking for further information and advice in relation to its implementation. 'Disability Equality Duty: The Way Forward' will be a one-day course, run in-house for individual public bodies. Please see our training pages for further information. More training coursesDetails of upcoming open courses are now shown in the training section. Join us in September for a two-day course on an introduction to access consultancy. We are also running a new half-day workshop on Tactile Images and Maps. ‘The creation of accessible images is more complex than simply creating a tactile or large print copy of the original’.
